Button: "FIND" in the Database Window
Context menu: Find
This function is available in the Database Window. When the function is called, the Search window appears. Type the search text into the field. Start searching with the ENTER key or the button FIND.
FIND searches for the first match from the top of the list. The search window is closed the window. If there is no match, the search window stays open, and the search text can be changed.
FIND NEXT searches for the next match behind the current cursor position (red bar). At the end of the database the search jumps back to the beginning. The window stays open.
The KEY F3 starts "Find next". This works also if the search window is closed
The search item depends on the current sort key of the database:
Name: Capitals are ignored. Special characters and spaces are ignored. The search will start at the beginning of the name. First names cannot be searched separately. Example: "fo,al" does not find "FORD,ALBERT", "fordal" finds "FORD,ALBERT".
Birthday / Test Date: The date has to be given completely (day, month, year). Points and other special characters are ignored. Example: "24051999" finds "24-05-1999"
Instrument: The current order is examination type (device + examination program). Type the instrument type in the abbreviation used by PeriData (e.g. Octo600).
